For Students & Student Organizations

Students at UW-Green Bay may have a personal Web site, so long as it is in accordance with the Student Acceptable Use Policy for Technology and the Internet.

For personal web sites students should contact the CIT Help Desk to request that their network share is set for web access. Once you have been notfied your account has been setup there will be within your network share www directory. All files associated with your web site should be put in that directory so that it can be accessed on the Internet. Since everything that is put within that directory is accessibile to anyone on the Internet you will want to make sure you not to put any sensitive/private material out there. The URL to your Web site will be http://student.uwgb.edu/username.

For student organization web sites students should follow the Policies and Procedures for the Campus Web Site. The Web site should be developed, following that policy, offline. Once the site has been created make an appointment to review it with the University Webmaster. For the site review with the University Webmaster you will need a copy of your site on disc or available through GBshare and a completed Web Site Application form signed by the student designer, the student that will maintain the site and the org's advisor.
