All Departments may have space on the www.uwgb.edu domain for a site. The site may be designed as you would like, so long as the site is follows the Policies and Procedures for the Campus Web Site. If you want something to get you started you are welcome to use one of the template designs we have available.
Space on the server is called a Web share. Before a department can have a Web share the site needs to be developed either offline on an individual machine or through developmental web space. Developmental web space may be requested by completing the developmental web space application.
Once the site is developed submit the new site on disc, through the developmental web space, or though GBshare, to the University Webmaster, along with a completed copy of the Web Site Application form. The University Webmaster will review the site to make sure that it meets the Campus Web Policy. You will be notified via email once the share has been created.
The web share is like any other network share, you can copy, move, or create files. The difference between a Web share and another network share is is that anything you put in your web share can be accessed by anyone with Internet access. You do not want to put sensitive material or use this share as storage.
Do I have to work on your departmental web site on campus?
No, you may also work on your site from off campus. For details please see the Off Campus Access page.
Does the University have any templates that can be used for departmental sites?

Is there a way to know how many times my site has been visited or what pages people are using?

Who is responsible for maintaining a particular web site?
