
ANDREW AUSTIN
Associate Professor
Law and Justice Studies, Sociology and Director of the
Department's Internship Program
Andrew Austin received his PhD in Sociology
from the University of Tennessee in 2000 and is Associate Professor of Social
Change and Development and Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay.
In addition to teaching courses in sociology, criminal justice, and social
history, he directs the Law and Justice Studies emphasis and the department’s
internship program. His areas of interests are crime and justice issues,
environmental sociology, political economy, political sociology, and race and
ethnicity. He has published numerous articles, essays, and reviews in books and
journals. He has chaired, presented, or had papers read at more than a dozen
professional conferences. Andrew is a consultant on truancy and school climate
issues in the Green Bay area. He was honored in 2002 with the Spectrum Award for
outstanding scholarship.
