The Academic Affairs Planning Committee advises the Provost and helps incorporate planning as part of a year-round cycle in which performance is monitored and plans and budgets are actively linked. The Academic Affairs Planning Committee was first appointed in Spring 2004 to reinvigorate ongoing strategic planning for offices and academic units reporting to the Provost. A centerpiece of the Committee's work has been support of the Provost in developing an integrated planning process for Academic Affairs. The result is Strategic Plan 2006-09.
The Committee brings together faculty, staff, and administrators from across all six Academic Affairs budget divisions—Information Services, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Outreach and Adult Access, Professional and Graduate Programs, Student Affairs, the Provost’s Office—as well as a student representative.
The Committee functions something like a steering committee for Academic Affairs. It helps to incorporate planning throughout the year, not just during the budget-building phase, and it links plans and performance across the Provost’s six budget divisions. The resulting plans and priorities guide decision-making, resource-allocation, and administrative actions throughout the year.
Feedback on the work of AAPC and of the planning documents is welcome and encouraged. Please feel free to contact the Provost via email at hammerss@uwgb.edu. Comments
received here or in discussion sessions have the potential to inform action
plans now being developed, and to influence future annual updating of the
Strategic plan.
